It’s that time of year when the nights start to cool; the leaves begin to change, and it’s time to close the BBQ for the season. Packing away the grill and patio set might feel bittersweet, but it’s also a chance to make space for cozy fall evenings and hearty home-cooked meals.
However, cleaning your grill, ovens, and other tools that have built up grime can be one of those end-of-season to-dos that nobody looks forward to. After a summer of fun, it’s amazing how quickly grease, smoke, and food residue can pile up.
The Cleaning Product You Didn’t See Coming – Neither did we!
You probably know us best for being the first Laundry Detergent Sheets on the market to battle plastic jugs. On our mission to continue tackling household container waste comes a happy accident turned into your new cleaning sidekick.
Introducing Tru Earth’s Heavy-Duty Cleaner: Grime & Grease Buster —easy, effective, and tough enough for your dirtiest jobs.
Most heavy-duty cleaning products reek of toxic fumes, leave behind sticky residues, and pollute the planet in the process. That’s a hard pass for us!
So, here’s what happened: while cooking up our original dishwasher formula, we oops’d into something else, a heavy-duty, multi-purpose grease-melting, grime-busting, miracle worker. Proof that sometimes the best discoveries come from accidents (looking at you, penicillin and potato chips).

How to Clean your BBQ with a Heavy-Duty Cleaner?
1. Safety first – Make sure your grill is completely cooled and disconnected from propane or power. Wear gloves to protect your hands from grease and cleaner.
2. Fill a basin or bucket with warm/hot water – Add 1 tablet for 3 liters of water. Stir to dissolve the tablet
3. Remove the grates and parts – Take out the cooking grates, flame tamers, and drip tray. Place them in the basin or bucket.
4. Let it sit – Give the cleaner 15–60 minutes (or as directed on the label) to break down the grease and buildup.
5. Scrub thoroughly – Use a stiff brush, scouring pad, or sponge to scrub away the loosened grime. For really tough spots, you may need to soak longer and scrub again.
6. Rinse and wipe – Wipe everything down with a damp cloth or rinse with warm water to remove all cleaner residue. Make sure no chemicals are left behind.
7. Dry completely – Allow the grill and parts to dry fully to prevent rust before reassembling.
8. Reassemble and finish – Put your grill back together and give the exterior a quick wipe so it’s clean and ready for storage.
